Reading your placements is like learning a new language. Here's the rule of thumb I was taught:

Example: Venus in the 7th House means the way you love (Venus) comes out strongly through partnerships (7th House). You're built for one-on-one closeness, and relationships take up a big share of your life.
Example: Mars in the 10th House means your drive and ambition (Mars) go into your career and public standing (10th House). You want to do well and leave your mark.
Each placement adds another layer to the picture. Put them all together and you start to see the whole of who you are, and what you might be here for.
